Weare proud of our broad portfolio of projects completed over the many years. To date we have been involved in the construction of in excess of thrity courses throught Australia and overseas. The calibre of the courses vary significally from local public golf course through to prestigous names including Royal Melbourne. No matter the course all are built with the same intention of providing a quality course to exceed the expectations of the player, the club and the broader golfing community. |
Eynesbury, VICTORIA This course is the centerpiece of a new township that has been developed in the new township of Eynesbury, approximately 35km west of Melbourne CBD. This Graham Marsh designed course required extensive earthworks to transform the flat pasture land into a signature Marsh oasis. McMahons progressed ahead of schedule with the aid of our extensively developed technology. Eynesbury was opened in March 2007 and incorporates the old farmers house and stables as clubhouse and pro shop. These buildings have been returned to their original heritage status. Their immense grandeur adds a certain charisma to this developed course. |
Coolum, QUEENSLAND Original golf course designer Robert Trent Jones Jr was enlisted to refresh the course and create six new golf holes, the quality of which ensures the integrity and playability of the new course is second to none. Construction work began in 2007 on the new layout, which includes six new holes around Hyatt's Vine Forest in the west and the removal of five holes east, and one hole west, of David Low Way. Holes 1-6 around the Vine Forest will include two par three, two par four and two par five holes, and will blend with the existing holes 2, 3, and 9 to become the new ?front nine?. The back nine holes (10 to 18) will remain unchanged. The golf course opened to the public in 2009 with the 2009 Australian PGA Championship played on the new course. |

Luddenham, NEW SOUTH WALES. In December 2003 works commenced to construct the Twin Creeks Golf Course located nearPenrith,New South Wales. Once again it was McMahon's development of the 3D technology which was a convincing factor in awarding us the contract. Since the Growling Frog days, Research and Development had pushed ahead at McMahon's and a new generation of automated machinery was rolled out for construction purposes. Automated bulk earthworks scoops ensured no dirt was moved twice, with final grades able to be obtained in initial cuts. A new ATS machine enable greens to be constructed in hours, not days and this has seen the project head towards completion at an alarming rate. The next generation of machines is now in planning and you can expect McMahon's to present something new and improved on the next project.

Kalgoorlie Boulder, WESTERN AUSTRALIA Kalgoorlie, alternatively known as Kalgoorlie-Boulder, is a city in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia, and is located 595 kilometres east-northeast of Perth, the state capital. McMahons undertook this project to turn what could be regarded as barren red soil into a premier grassed golf course. Whilst the project has been faced with many challenges throughout construction, our philosophy of partnering with our clients has endured with the course opening to the public in November 2010.

Moorabbin,VICTORIA McMahon's has been associated with Hudson Conway Limited and the Capital Golf Club for in excess of seven (7) years. During this time we have worked closely with the Superintendent in undertaking the reconstruction works of greens, tees and fairways. We also built bitumen buggy paths, ornamental lakes and performed all facets of earthmoving to create what is truly as first class course. |
Black Rock,VICTORIA RMGC undertook an ambitious project in July 2004. Due to increasing wayward balls off the Sixth Tee, East Course, it was proposed as to whether an exact replica of the hole could be built but just rotated away from the road. McMahon's surveyed the existing hole, which was then rotated by the Architect 15°, and handed back to us for construction. Reinstating the levels to what they were before construction has been taking 4 staff over 10 days to achieve using the standard grid and peg method along with a laser level. Tolerances on the fairways and surrounds were ± 40mm and the greens were to be constructed at ± 5mm. Utilising both our GPS and ATS systems, we reconstructed the entire hole in very short time, achieving the desired accuracies. McMahon's new 3D Laser Controlled Technology can do the same leveling in one day, using one person. |
Whittlesea, VICTORIA The first golf course in the world to be built entirely buy automation, the Growling Frog has continued to receive accolades since it opened in September 2004. One challenge in building this course was to ensure that not one of the 250 gum trees were damaged during the construction process. The location of this course was an old farming property but the trees dated back some 300 years. It was paramount to the success of this course that the project could be undertaken with such care as to ensure its brilliance The Growling Frog is a blend of the links style for the back 9 and more traditional members style for the front 9. The continued notoriety that the Growling Frog golf course receives is testament to both its design and construction. Our reliance on our machine guidance ensured that earthworks was kept to a minimum and consistency was established between the topsoil layers and the sub base. Today those consistencies have ensured that greens have remained in perfect condition, tees have remained firm and grass growth has been uniform across the fairways. |
